Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 7/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system is located near Adelaide. A cold front over southern Victoria will move into the Tasman Sea tonight then deepen into a low pressure system during Sunday. The high will extend a ridge across Victoria on Sunday as it moves southeastwards, reaching the Tasman Sea on Monday. The ridge will remain across southeastern Australia until the middle of next week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers over southern and mountain areas, though tending isolated in the southwest. Possible isolated showers just north of the Divide, though fine over the northwest. Snow above 1300 metres. Isolated thunderstorms possible about the east Gippsland coast. Moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds, gusty at times near the east coast.Sunday 8 JuneIsolated showers and drizzle over southern and mountain areas, contracting to Gippsland and the adjacent ranges during the morning. Showers tending scattered in the east and falling as snow above 1300m at first. Dry in the north. A cool day with moderate southerly winds, fresh near the East Gippsland coast.Monday 9 JuneWidespread morning frost inland. Isolated showers over East Gippsland, scattered in the far east but easing during the day and clearing by evening. Dry and mostly sunny elsewhere. A cool to mild day with light winds.Tuesday 10 JuneMorning fog and frost patches inland. Isolated morning showers in the far east, otherwise a fine, cool to mild, and mostly sunny day. Light to moderate northerly winds.Wednesday 11 JuneMorning fog and frost patches inland. Fine and cool to mild throughout the State, with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Sunday.Product IDV10310
