MELBOURNE - Jun 7/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong high pressure system over the Bight is extending a ridge to the southern Tasman Sea. A low or trough will develop in the Tasman on Sunday, directing strengthening southwest to southeast winds along the coast. The high pressure ridge is moving slowly southeast, and is expected to be centred over Bass Strait by Monday, where it will become the main influence on NSW for the middle part of the week. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers along the coastal fringe of the Central Coast, Hunter, and parts of the north coast. Isolated showers in the southeast, falling as snow above 1500m. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Sunday 8 JuneIsolated showers along the coast, more widespread along central parts of the coastal fringe, with some possible locally heavy falls. Isolated showers also over the southern and northern ranges. Fine and mostly sunny west of the Divide. Early fog and frost patches about the tablelands. Southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh to strong along the coastal fringe.Monday 9 JuneScattered coastal showers, with isolated showers extending to the adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny west of the divide. Early frost patches about the tablelands. East to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 10 JuneIsolated showers on the coast and adjacent ranges, more scattered in the north, and clearing from the south during the day. Fine and partly cloudy inland. East to southeast winds.Wednesday 11 JuneIsolated showers along the north coast, with the chance of showers over the far northern ranges.
