MELBOURNE - Jun 6/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong high pressure system is located near Adelaide. A cold front will cross Victoria today before deepening into a low pressure system over the Tasman Sea on Sunday. The high will extend a ridge across Victoria on Sunday as it moves southeastwards, reaching the Tasman Sea on Monday. The ridge will remain across southeastern Australia until the middle of next week. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayEarly fog patches. Isolated showers over southern and mountain districts becoming scattered during the late morning and early afternoon before becoming isolated this evening. Isolated showers possible over the northern plains from late morning although fine over the northwest. Snow above 1300 metres. Isolated thunderstorms possible about the Gippsland coast. A cool to mild day with moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds, gusty at times near the coast.Sunday 8 JuneIsolated showers over Gippsland, tending scattered in the east and falling as snow above 1400m at first. Dry elsewhere apart form the chance of isolated showers over the central district during the morning. A cool day with moderate southerly winds, fresh near the East Gippsland coast.Monday 9 JuneWidespread morning frost inland. Isolated showers over East Gippsland, scattered in the far east and clearing by the evening. Dry and mostly sunny elsewhere. A cool to mild day with light winds.Tuesday 10 JuneMorning fog and frost patches inland then a dry, cool to mild, and mostly sunny day.
