MELBOURNE - Jun 6/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Bight is extending a ridge to the southern Tasman Sea. This high is strengthening while moving gradually southeast, and is expected to be centred over Bass Strait by the end of the weekend. This pattern will maintain mostly fine and stable weather over the interior of New South Wales through this period, while directing showers onto the coast in a generally southerly airstream. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers east of the Divide, more widespread and possibly heavy along the coastal fringe between Sydney and Port Macquarie. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds.Saturday 7 JuneIsolated coastal showers, tending scattered along the coastal fringe north of Gosford. Isolated showers on the Alps, falling as snow showers above 1500m. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Areas of morning fog in the east and southwest, and early frost about the southern and central tablelands. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Sunday 8 JuneIsolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, more widespread along the coastal fringe, with some possible locally heavy falls. Fine and mostly sunny west of the Divide. Early fog and frost patches about the tablelands. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Monday 9 JuneIsolated coastal showers, more scattered in the north. Fine and mostly sunny inland. Early frost patches about the tablelands. East to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 10 JuneIsolated showers on the coast and adjacent ranges, more scattered in the north. East to southeast winds.
