MELBOURNE - Jun 5/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Bight is extending a ridge to the southern Tasman Sea. This high will strengthen during the next day or two while moving gradually southeast, expected to be centred over Bass Strait by the end of the weekend. This pattern will promote mostly fine and stable weather over the interior New South Wales through this period, while directing showers onto the coast in a generally southerly airstream. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers east of the Divide, tending scattered on the coastal fringe. The chance of thunderstorms about the Hunter coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Friday 6 JuneIsolated showers west of the Divide, tending scattered along central parts of the coast. Showers possibly extending to the western slopes of the northern and central ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds.Saturday 7 JuneIsolated showers on the Alps, with snow showers above 1600m. Isolated coastal showers tending scattered along parts of the coastal fringe. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Sunday 8 JuneIsolated showers coast and adjacent ranges tending scattered near the coastal fringe.
