Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 4/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Bight is extending a ridge to the southern Tasman Sea. This high is expected to strengthen during the next day or two while moving gradually southeast, likely to be centred over Bass Strait by the end of the weekend. This pattern will promote mostly fine and stable weather over the interior of New South Wales through this period, while directing showers onto the coast in a generally southerly airstream.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayMorning fog patches in the south and east. Isolated showers east of the Divide, becoming more frequent along much of the coastal fringe. Possible local thunder about the Hunter coast. The chance of light afternoon showers across the southern inland. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Friday 6 JuneIsolated showers east of the Divide, tending scattered along central parts of the coast. Fine and partly cloudy inland. South to southeasterly winds.Saturday 7 JuneIsolated showers on the southern ranges, with snow showers on the Alps to about 1600m. Isolated showers along the central and northern coast and adjacent ranges, scattered along parts of the coastal fringe. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Sunday 8 JuneIsolated showers coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and partly cloudy inland.
