MELBOURNE - Jun 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front will cross southern Victoria today as a high pressure system forms over the Bight. The high will drift slowly eastwards and will be centred near western Victoria later Thursday and during Friday. The next cold front will move from the Southern Ocean across Victoria during Saturday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayMorning fog patches. Drizzle areas over the northeast contracting to the ranges this afternoon. Scattered showers over the southwest extending to most remaining districts during the day, but remaining dry over the far northwest and across East Gippsland. A cool to mild day with light to moderate northwesterly winds gradually shifting southwesterly from the west.Thursday 5 JuneMorning fog patches inland. Isolated showers over southern and mountain districts, tending scattered in the east at first. The chance of showers also over the northwest in the morning. Showers contracting to the far east by evening. A cool to mild day with light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.Friday 6 JuneEarly fog patches inland. Isolated showers in the south, clearing the far southeast in the afternoon. Fine, partly cloudy elsewhere. A cool day with chiefly light winds.Saturday 7 JuneMorning fog and frost patches in the northeast. Scattered showers in southern and mountain areas, extending northward during the day though tending isolated inland. Snow showers down to 1400m. Showers easing and contracting east later in the day.
