Weather Situation A low pressure system off the eastern Victorian coast is moving southeast and weakening during today as a high pressure ridge builds across New South Wales. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayRain over the southern Alps, easing during the evening, possibly falling as snow about the peaks. Possible shower near the far northern coastal fringe. Dry and mostly clear elsewhere in the east, mostly cloudy in the west. Northwest to southwesterly winds, fresh in the southeast.Wednesday 4 JuneIsolated morning showers or drizzle over the southwest slopes and southern Alps. Isolated showers developing over the far northeast, more scattered along the coastal fringe. Dry and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeast and generally light winds.Thursday 5 JuneIsolated showers along parts of the coast and adjacent ranges, and the chance of showers inland near the Victorian border. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds.Friday 6 JuneIsolated showers along the coast, scattered along central parts of the coast, with the chance of showers extending to the adjacent ranges. South to southeasterly winds.Saturday 7 JuneShowers over the southeast corner, falling as snow showers above around 1600m. Isolated showers along the central and northern coast and adjacent ranges, more scattered along the north coast.
