MELBOURNE - Jun 2/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system centred off the Gippsland coast will drift slowly southeastwards today and will gradually weaken. A cold front will move through southern Victoria on Wednesday as a high pressure system forms over the Bight. The high will be centred near western Victoria later Thursday and during Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayAreas of morning fog, mainly over the north and west. Rain areas in the east easing to scattered showers during the morning. Isolated showers and drizzle patches elsewhere although dry over the far northwest. A cool day with generally light to moderate west to northwesterly winds, fresh along the Gippsland coast.Wednesday 4 JuneEarly fog patches inland. Scattered showers extending across most districts from the west but fine over the far northwest and East Gippsland. A cool to mild day with light to moderate northwesterly winds gradually shifting southwesterly from the west.Thursday 5 JuneIsolated showers in southern and mountain districts contracting eastwards during the day. Cool to mild day with light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.Friday 6 JuneIsolated showers in the southeast clearing during the afternoon. Late showers in the southwest. Fine elsewhere.
