MELBOURNE - Jun 2/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system near eastern Victoria will drift southward during Tuesday and weaken. A cold front will move through southern Victoria on Wednesday. A high pressure system will be centred near western Victoria later on Thursday and during Friday. Forecast for the rest of MondayRain in Gippsland with isolated thunderstorms possible in the far east. Isolated showers in remaining southern and eastern areas. Fine over the northwest. Light winds in most areas tending east to southeasterly in Gippsland and freshening about the coast.Tuesday 3 JuneEarly rain in the east easing to scattered showers during the morning. Isolated showers elsewhere although fine over the far northwest. A cool day with generally light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.Wednesday 4 JuneEarly fog patches inland. Scattered showers extending across most districts from the west but fine over the far northwest and East Gippsland. A cool to mild day with light to moderate northwesterly winds gradually shifting southwesterly from the west.Thursday 5 JuneIsolated showers in southern and mountain districts contracting eastwards during the day. Cool to mild day with light to moderate southwesterly winds.Friday 6 JuneIsolated showers in the southeast clearing during the afternoon. Late showers in the southwest. Fine elsewhere.
