Australia -- Queensland Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 1/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system in the Tasman Sea extends a ridge of high pressure along Queensland's east coast. A surface trough is currently over Queensland's southeast interior, and should drift eastwards off the southeast coast tomorrow.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers about the east coast and nearby inland areas, extending inland during the day over the state's southeast. More widespread showers with the chance of thunderstorms over the southeast interior. Fine and mostly sunny over the west of the state. Light to moderate east to southeast winds, fresh at times about the tropical coast.Fire Danger -  Low to Moderate.Tuesday 3 JuneA new high should move across southeast Australia, maintaining an onshore flow and mainly isolated showers over Queensland's eastern districts. More widespread showers and the chance of some isolated storms over the state's southeast as a weak upper level trough moves over the region. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere.Wednesday 4 JuneThe new high should continue to push isolated showers over Queensland's far eastern districts, particularly over the eastern tropics. Fine and sunny in the west.Thursday 5 JuneThe high will remain anchored over the southeast of the country, keeping most of Queensland fine and sunny except for some showers about the east coast.Friday until SundayThe high should remain over the southeast of the continent, maintaining mainly isolated showers about Queensland's eastern fringes and fine conditions over the interior.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Monday.Product IDQ10700
