Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 1/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge of high pressure over the Southern Ocean to another high west of the Bight. Cradled between the two high centres is a trough of low pressure and associated upper level low over inland New South Wales. The trough of low pressure over New South Wales is expected to move off the coast today, with a deepening low forming off the far south coast during the day. This low is expected to move into eastern Bass Strait tonight, before moving east again and weakening on Tuesday. As it moves away to the southeast on Wednesday another high is expected to move over southeastern Australia.
Forecast for the rest of MondayScattered showers over the eastern half, contracting to the south and northeast during the day. Rain developing on the far south coast and adjacent ranges, with moderate to heavy falls. Chance of isolated thunderstorms in the southeast. Morning fog patches. Northwest to southwesterly winds inland. Northeast to northwesterly winds on the coast, strong in the far south.Tuesday 3 JuneIsolated showers in the southern inland and on the far north coast. Snow showers on the higher Alps. Fine, partly cloudy elsewhere. Morning fog patches. Northwest to southwesterly windsWednesday 4 JuneIsolated showers in the southern inland and on the far north coast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Thursday 5 JuneIsolated coastal showers and the chance of showers near Victorian border. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
