MELBOURNE - Jun 1/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge of high pressure over the Southern Ocean to another high west of the Bight. Cradled between the two high centres is a trough of low pressure and associated upper level low over inland New South Wales. This trough is moving slowly east it will move off the coast later Monday. Behind the trough, the next high is expected to move over the state on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayAreas of rain or showers in the eastern half with the chance of thunderstorms, contracting east. Clearing showers in the west. North to northeasterly winds in the northeast, and northwest to southwesterly winds extending across the remainder.Monday 2 JunePartly cloudy in the far northwest. Isolated showers elsewhere , contracting to the ranges and western slopes later in the day. Snow showers on the higher Alps. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast and in far southeastern inland. Morning fog patches. Northwest to southwesterly windsTuesday 3 JuneIsolated showers on the southern inland and on the far north coasts. Snow showers on the higher Alps. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Morning fog patches. Northwest to southwesterly windsWednesday 4 JuneIsolated showers in the southeastern inland and on the far north coasts. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
