MELBOURNE - May 31/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge of high pressure over the Southern Ocean to another high west of the Bight. Cradled between the two high centres is a trough of low pressure and associated upper level low over inland New South Wales. The trough is expected to move slowly east over the next few days before moving off the coast later on Monday. The next high should then move into the state on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayAreas of rain or showers and isolated thunderstorms in most districts, contracting slowly east during the day. North to northeasterly winds in the northeast, and northwest to southwesterly winds extending across the remainder.Monday 2 JuneIsolated showers in the east and south , contracting to the ranges and western slopes later in the day. Snow showers on the higher Alps. Morning fog patches. Northwest to southwesterly windsTuesday 3 JuneIsolated showers in the southeast, mainly on western slopes of the tablelands, possibly falling as snow about the Alpine peaks. Isolated showers on the far north coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Morning fog patches. Northwest to southwesterly windsWednesday 4 JuneIsolated showers on the central and far north coasts, and over the alps. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
