Australia -- Queensland Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 30/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high should drift slowly eastwards across the Tasman Sea over the next few days. A trough will enter western Queensland on Saturday and shift slowly east over the interior during the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of FridayMainly isolated showers about the eastern districts. Fine though cloudy over the interior. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds, fresh at times about the coast.Saturday 31 MayThe high over the Tasman will push scattered showers across the far eastern districts, and more isolated showers should extend into the eastern interior. Isolated showers and storms over the state's southern interior near the surface trough. Fine though with cloudy periods elsewhere. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds, fresh at times about the coast.Sunday 1 JuneThe trough should produce scattered showers and some isolated storms over the southern and southeast interior as it drifts slowly eastwards. Mainly isolated showers over the remainder of the eastern districts. Fine, sunny and cooler in the southwest.Monday 2 JuneThe trough should stall over the southeast interior, and a humid airflow into it should help to produce some isolated showers about the state's southeast, and there's also the chance of some isolated storms about the southern border ranges. Mainly isolated showers in an onshore flow about the remaining eastern districts and fine and mostly sunny over the western half of the state.Tuesday 3 JuneA new high should move across southeast Australia, maintaining an onshore flow and mainly isolated showers over Queensland's eastern districts. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere.Wednesday until FridayThe new high should continue to push some showers across the eastern districts late in the week, particularly in the tropics.
