MELBOURNE - May 30/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low 1010 hPa over the western Bight will move slowly eastwards crossing over the south of the State on Saturday. A weak high will move over the north of the State early next week. Forecast for the rest of FridayAreas of rain and possible thunderstorms east of about Coober Pedy to Tarcoola extending over central and the eastern districts north of Lameroo this evening. Isolated showers over the West Coast district, scattered at times with possible thunderstorms near the coast. Moderate to fresh northeast to northwest winds, turning fresh westerly in the far west.Saturday 31 MayPatchy rain east of about Port Augusta, increasing to areas of rain south of about Leigh Creek, contracting to the eastern border during the day. Isolated showers over the agricultural areas and south of the Pastoral districts, scattered at times about central coasts and eastern districts south of about Leigh Creek, easing during the day. The chance of isolated thunderstorms over the agricultural area north of about Lameroo, the Flinders District and the Northeast Pastoral district south of Marree. Early morning fog patches over Eyre Peninsula and the West Coast district east of Ceduna. Cool to mild with light to moderate east to northeast winds in the east turning northwest to westerly in the west then shifting southwesterly in the west during the day.Sunday 1 JuneIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and Murraylands with possible showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and West Coast district, contracting to southern coasts by evening. Areas of morning fog. Cool to mild with light to moderate southerly winds.Monday 2 June Fine apart from early morning fog patches over the West Coast district and Eyre Peninsula and possible isolated showers south of about Adelaide. Generally mild with light and variable winds. Tuesday 3 JuneFine apart from isolated showers developing south of Port Lincoln to Naracoorte during the day. Cool to mild with mainly light winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday morning to midnight Tuesday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm expected over the south and east of the Northwest Pastoral district, the West Coast district, the north of the Northeast Pastoral district and the eastern districts south of about Lameroo. 10 to 20 mm is expected elsewhere with isolated falls of 20 to 30 mm possible. Less than 2 mm is expected over the far southeast and northeast parts of the state over the Northwest Pastoral west of Coober Pedy to Tarcoola.Wednesday until FridayFine apart from possible isolated showers south of Elliston to Keith.
