MELBOURNE - May 29/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low 1010 hPa over the Bight will move slowly eastwards today, crossing the south of the State on Saturday. A weak high will move over the north of the State early next week. Forecast for the rest of FridayPatchy rain developing over western parts during the morning, reaching central and eastern districts during the afternoon and evening, increasing to areas of rain south of about Marree. Isolated showers over the West Coast, Eyre Peninsula and southern Northwest Pastoral districts following the rain. The chance of isolated thunderstorms extending over areas southwest of about Nullarbor to Coober Pedy to Kingscote. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh northeast to northwest winds, turning fresh westerly in the far west.Saturday 31 MayPatchy rain east of about Port Augusta, increasing to areas of rain south of Leigh Creek, contracting to the eastern border during the day. Isolated showers over the agricultural areas and south of the Pastoral districts, scattered at times about western coasts and eastern districts south of about Renmark, easing during the day and contracting south and east. The chance of isolated thunderstorms about coasts of Eyre Peninsula and eastern districts south of Broken Hill and north of Keith. Cool to mild with light and variable winds, turning moderate to fresh southwesterly north of a line Ceduna to Marree.Sunday 1 JuneIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area with possible showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and West Coast district, contracting to southern coasts by evening. Cool to mild with light to moderate southerly winds.Monday 2 June Fine apart from possible isolated showers about southern coasts. Generally mild with light and variable winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday morning to midnight Monday are expected to be up to 2 mm over the far northeast and southeast of the State with 2 to 10 mm expected over the south and east of the Northwest Pastoral district, the West Coast district, the north of the Northeast Pastoral district and the eastern districts south of about Lameroo. 10 to 20 mm is expected elsewhere with isolated falls of 20 to 25 mm possible. Tuesday until ThursdayFine apart from possible isolated showers about the Lower South East district on Tuesday.
