Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 29/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high pressure system lies over New South Wales, while a trough moves northwards along the coast. The high is expected to strengthen and move southeast to the Tasman Sea during Friday in the trough's wake. A second, more significant trough south of the Bight will reach western New South Wales late Friday or early Saturday, bringing widespread rain to the region before shifting to the Tasman Sea later on Sunday. Another high pressure system is expected to move across from the west after this, restoring settled weather to most areas for the start of the new week.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers along parts of the coastal fringe between the Illawarra and Mid North Coast, with some late drizzle possible about eastern parts of the southern and central ranges. Fine elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds, becoming light and variable inland.Friday 30 MayIsolated showers in coastal districts, becoming more widespread along the coastal fringe during the day. The chance of showers on eastern parts of the ranges. A little rain developing in the far west at night. Early fog patches in the east. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Saturday 31 MayRain areas and possible thunderstorms in the west, extending to central districts during the day. Scattered showers about the coast and ranges, more widespread about the coastal fringe. Early fog patches about the tablelands. East to northeasterly winds, freshening on the southern coast, and turning northwesterly in the west later.Sunday 1 JuneRain areas and possible thunderstorms over the eastern half, easing during the day. Isolated showers in the southwest. Fine in the northwest. North to northeasterly winds in the northeast, and northwest to southwesterly winds extending across the remainder.Monday 2 JuneIsolated showers in the south and east, scattered at first about western slopes of the ranges.
