Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 28/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system to the southwest of the Bight will move slowly northeastwards, crossing the south of the State on Saturday with an associated trough affecting western districts on Thursday then extending across the remainder of the State on Friday and Saturday. A weak high will move over the north early next week.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting to southern and western coasts during the evening. Cool to mild with light to moderate northwest to southwesterly winds, fresh at times in the south.Thursday 29 MayEarly fog patches in the southeast. Isolated showers developing southwest of about Tarcoola to Kingscote. Mild to warm with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds.Friday 30 MayPatchy rain developing over western parts during the morning, reaching central and eastern districts to the south of about Leigh Creek during the afternoon and evening, increasing to areas of rain over the West Coast and Eyre Peninsula. Possible isolated showers extending over the north. The chance of isolated thunderstorms southwest of about Tarcoola to Woomera to Kingscote. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly winds, turning fresh westerly in the far west.Saturday 31 MayPatchy rain contracting to the eastern border during the morning. Isolated showers over the agricultural areas and south of the Pastoral districts, increasing to scattered showers about western coasts and eastern districts south of about Renmark. The chance of isolated thunderstorms about coasts of Eyre Peninsula and eastern districts south of Broken Hill. Cool to mild with light and variable winds, turning moderate to fresh southwesterly north of a line Ceduna to Marree.Sunday 1 JunePossible isolated showers over the southern agricultural area and west coast, contracting to southern coasts by evening. Cool to mild with light to moderate southerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday to midnight Sunday are expected to be 2 to10 mm generally over the agricultural areas, Flinders and far south of the pastorals, increasing to 5 to 15 mm over parts of the West Coast and southern agricultural area, possibly reaching 15 to 20 mm about western and southern coasts. Less than 2 mm over the remainder.Monday until WednesdayFine apart from possible isolated showers about southeastern coasts, extending over the southern agricultural area and west coast on Wednesday. Cool to mild with light and variable winds, becoming moderate northwest to southwesterly about the coasts on Tuesday and Wednesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
