Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 27/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front and associated rain band cleared Victoria overnight. Another cold front will follow through Bass Strait today. A weak ridge of high pressure will move across Victoria during Thursday and Friday as a low pressure system develops in the Bight. The low will move eastwards across southeastern Australia on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers, tending scattered about the northeast ranges. A mild and mostly cloudy day. Moderate northwesterly winds, tending west to southwesterly in the afternoon and fresh at times near the coast.Thursday 29 MayMorning fog patches in the south and east with isolated showers over Gippsland. Fine elsewhere. A cool to mild and partly cloudy day with light winds tending light northerly in the west. .Friday 30 MayMorning fog patches in the east then a fine and partly cloudy day. Isolated showers possible near the western border at night. Light east to northeasterly winds.Saturday 31 MayPatchy rain developing form the west, becoming more extensive over the north during the afternoon with the chance of isolated thunderstorms. A mostly cloudy day with light to moderate northeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Wednesday.Product IDV10310
