Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 27/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front is moving through northeastern New South Wales and weakening. During Thursday a high pressure system will move near Tasmania behind the front extending a ridge to the north. The next trough is expected to move over southeastern Australia from west late Saturday or Sunday as the high moves east and the ridge across the state weaken.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers in the far southeastern inland contracting to the western Alps in the morning. Snow showers on the Alpine peaks. Partly cloudy elsewhere. West to northwesterly winds extending throughout, fresh and gusty in the east at first.Thursday 29 MayThe chance of showers over the Alpine area. Isolated showers developing along the central and southern coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Light winds inland, with a southerly change extending along the coast.Friday 30 MayIsolated showers along the coast, with the chance of some showers also over the adjacent ranges. Isolated showers developing late in the far southwest. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Light northeast to southeast winds.Saturday 31 MayIsolated showers extending across most of the state, more scattered in the southwest. The chance of thunderstorms over the southwest.
