A trough and an associated south to southeasterly wind change are expected to move north through southern Queensland waters during Thursday. Another trough will most likely enter western Queensland on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers about the tropical east coast. Mostly fine over remaining eastern districts with just the chance of isolated light showers. Isolated to scattered showers are expected about the exposed east coast in the strengthening onshore wind flow, with some shower activity extending into the eastern interior during the day. Fine and mostly sunny conditions will occur through western Queensland and the southern interior, with maximum temperatures remaining several degrees above the average.Saturday 31 MayThe high will remain slow moving in the Tasman Sea but should weaken a little. Moist onshore winds will produce isolated showers over eastern districts, more scattered about the exposed east coast. A new trough will enter western Queensland, producing isolated showers south and west of Longreach, with possible isolated thunderstorms near the southern interior border. Fine and mostly sunny conditions are expected in the northwest of the state.Sunday until TuesdayThe trough will most likely move only slowly east over the southern and central interior of the state, generating isolated to scattered showers and possible isolated storms with its passage. The high will move further east through the Tasman while a new high will enter southeastern Australia on Monday, maintaining a moist onshore wind flow and isolated to scattered showers about the east coast and nearby inland.
