Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 26/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front/trough system will move through southwestern half of New South Wales today before weakening over the northeast during Wednesday. Behind the front a high pressure system will move near Tasmania on Thursday extending a ridge across the state. The next trough is expected to move over southeastern Australia late Saturday or Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayRain and the isolated thunderstorms extending from the west across the central and southern inland during the day. Rain reaching the southern coast at night but clearing in the west later. Partly cloudy in the northeast. North to northwesterly winds, becoming fresh to strong and gusty in the south and west. A westerly wind shift in the west during the afternoon and evening.Wednesday 28 MayIsolated showers in the east, mainly on the ranges and adjacent western slopes, tending scattered near the Victorian border. Snow showers on the Alpine peaks. Possible early thunderstorms over the Alps. Partly cloudy in the west. West to northwesterly winds extending throughout, fresh and gusty in the east.Thursday 29 MayThe chance showers in the far northeast and southeast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Light winds, tending easterly during the day.Friday 30 MayIsolated showers along the south coast, and in the northeast. Isolated showers developing late near the western border.
