MELBOURNE - May 26/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front will move across the south of the State on Tuesday. A low will develop over the Bight on Thursday and then move slowly east to be centred over the eastern states on Sunday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPatchy rain and the chance of isolated thunderstorms over the east of the North East Pastoral, clearing early morning. Isolated showers and squally thunderstorms south of about Woomera, with showers increasing to scattered over the agricultural area. Showers and thunderstorms contracting southwards from mid afternoon, to be confined to coasts and ranges by late evening. Cool to mild with fresh to strong northwest to southwest winds.Wednesday 28 MayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and possibly over the northern agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts. Cool to mild with light to moderate northwest to southwesterly winds, fresh at times in the south.Thursday 29 MayIsolated showers southwest of about Tarcoola to Keith, increasing to scattered about western coasts. Mild to warm with light to moderate northeast to northwest winds.Friday 30 May Isolated showers except over the far northeast, far northwest and the South East district, increasing to scattered showers and the chance of isolated thunderstorms in the west. Mild to warm with moderate northeast to northerly winds, turning fresh westerly in the far west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning to midnight Friday are expected to be 10 to 30 mm near coasts and ranges, with 2 to 10 mm over the remainder, easing to less than 2 mm north of Cook to Leigh Creek. Saturday until MondayFine in the far northwest. Scattered showers about central and eastern parts on Saturday, tending isolated over the remainder.
