Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 25/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure will remain over the north of the State as a series of fronts move over the south during this week.
Forecast for the rest of SundayPatchy rain and possible isolated thunderstorms extending from the west, reaching a line from about Ernabella to Whyalla to Kingscote late evening. Rain increasing to areas of rain northwest of Tarcoola. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north with mainly moderate northwest to northeasterly winds.Monday 26 MayPatchy rain gradually extending east to reach about Oodnadatta to Renmark by late evening, and clearing west of about Coober Pedy to Kingscote by midnight. Rain gradually increasing to areas of rain and possible thunderstorms. Isolated showers persisting following the rain, scattered near southern coasts. Warm grading to hot in the far northeast, but cooler in rain areas. Moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly winds, shifting light to moderate westerly in the west.Tuesday 27 MayPatchy rain east of about Coober Pedy to Kingscote, tending to areas of rain and possible isolated thunderstorms south of Marree, all contracting east and clearing by about midday. Isolated showers, however, persisting south of about Coober Pedy to Broken Hill, scattered with isolated thunderstorms over the agricultural area till evening. Cool to mild with moderate northwest to southwesterly winds, fresh at times in the south.Wednesday 28 MayIsolated showers over the agricultural area and western coasts, increasing to scattered showers near southern coasts late evening. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds, fresh at times in the south.Thursday 29 MayIsolated showers southwest of about Tarcoola to Lameroo, increasing to scattered showers with possible isolated thunderstorms southwest of about Keith to Ceduna. Mostly cool with mainly moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, shifting southwesterly in the west during the day. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon to midnight Thursday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm in patchy rain, increasing to 10 to 30 mm with areas of rain. Less than 2 mm is expected in the far northeast of the State and also west of about Nullarbor.Friday until SundayIsolated showers south of about Coober Pedy, scattered with possible isolated thunderstorms over the agricultural area on Friday, contracting southwards on Sunday. Cool with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending light to moderate northwest to northeasterly in the east on Friday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Monday.Product IDS10033
