MELBOURNE - May 24/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weakening low pressure trough near the western Victorian border will track eastwards across the State during the remainder of Sunday. A low pressure system will cross Bight waters on Monday and an associated cold front will move across Victoria on Tuesday. Another low pressure system and cold front will cross the Bight on Wednesday to reach Victoria by Thursday. Forecast for the rest of SundayMorning fog patches. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over western and central areas moving across to eastern districts this afternoon then clearing this evening. Mild and partly cloudy with light to moderate north to northwesterly winds, locally fresh over central areas this morning.Monday 26 MayCloud increasing with rain developing areas extending from the southwest. Early fog patches over the east. A cool to mild day with mainly light to moderate northerly winds.Tuesday 27 MayA band of rain crossing the State with scattered showers to follow. Isolated thunderstorms. Snow falls possible above 1700 metres. Mild with moderate to fresh northerly winds, strong about Alpine areas, shifting colder west to northwesterly late in the day.Wednesday 28 MayIsolated showers, contracting to the eastern ranges and the southwest during the evening. Snow falls possible above 1700 metres.
