MELBOURNE - May 23/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak ridge of high pressure should remain over Queensland during the weekend. A high pressure system should form over the Tasman Sea early in the new week, and will extend a ridge of high pressure up Queensland's east coast from Monday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine and mostly sunny across the state except for some isolated showers about the far northeastern coast. Moderate to fresh southeast winds about the tropical east coast. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds elsewhere.Sunday 25 MayA weak ridge over Queensland will keep most of the state fine and sunny except for just the chance of some light showers about the Peninsula coast in a weak onshore flow.Monday 26 MayA weak high near southeast Queensland will keep most of the state fine and sunny, though it should push some isolated, mainly light showers onto the northeast coast.Tuesday 27 MayThe high should shift towards New Zealand, though will nonetheless maintain fine and mostly sunny conditions across Queensland except for some isolated showers about the state's far east in an onshore flow.Wednesday until FridayA ridge of high pressure should persist over Central Australia during the latter part of the week, maintaining fine and sunny conditions across Queensland except for some isolated showers about the far east.
