Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 23/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak pressure pattern is in place over New South Wales today, as a decaying trough moves along the coast and high pressure system gradually builds in its wake. This high is forecast to strengthen and drift slowly east during Sunday and Monday as the next frontal system approaches from the southwest.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayThe chance of showers through the Riverina, Southwest Slopes, and western parts of the southern ranges, mainly afternoon and evening. The chance of showers also about the Illawarra and adjacent areas. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Areas of morning fog in the east. Light and variable winds inland, with southerly winds extending along the coast.Sunday 25 MayScattered showers on the southwest slopes of the ranges, easing in the afternoon. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Areas of morning fog in the east. Light and variable winds tending northerly in the south.Monday 26 MayFine apart from the chance of a late shower or two in the far southwest near the South Australian border. Partly cloudy. Areas of morning fog in the east. Northerly winds, freshening in the south.Tuesday 27 MayRain in the west, extending through central and southeastern districts during the day, possibly reaching the southern half of the coast at night. Fine in the northeast. Light winds in the north. Northwest winds in the south, shifting westerly through the day.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Saturday.Product IDN10031
