Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 23/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high is situated east of NSW. A cold front will weaken as it moves over southern parts of the State on Saturday. A stronger front will move over South Australia on Monday and Tuesday next week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers over agricultural areas, mostly clearing to the coasts during the late afternoon and early evening. Mild overnight with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds turning north to northwesterly this evening.Saturday 24 MayMorning fog. Possible isolated afternoon showers over the Mount Lofty Ranges, Murraylands, Upper South East, Lower South East and Kangaroo Island districts. Mild to warm in the south, warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate northerly winds, shifting westerly in the west during the afternoon and evening.Sunday 25 MayIsolated morning drizzle about the Lower South East, Upper South East, Adelaide Metropolitan and Mount Lofty Ranges forecast districts. Patchy rain extending from the west during the afternoon, reaching a line from about Coober Pedy to Whyalla to Kingscote late evening. Mild to warm in the south, hot in the north with moderate northwest to northerly winds.Monday 26 MayPatchy rain extending east to reach about Leigh Creek to Lameroo by late evening, and clearing west of about Coober Pedy to Port Lincoln by midnight. Isolated showers persisting over agricultural areas and the West Coast district following the band of rain. Mild in the south, warm in the north. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, shifting light to moderate westerly in the west during the day.Tuesday 27 May
Patchy rain east of about Coober Pedy to Port Lincoln clearing to the east of SA by about midday. Isolated showers extending over the agricultural areas and southern parts of the Pastoral districts during the morning, increasing to scattered showers about the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild in the south, grading to mild to warm in the north. Moderate west to southwesterly winds extending throughout, fresh at times about the coasts.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon to midnight Tuesday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm, increasing to 10 to 30 mm over Eyre Peninsula, central and eastern districts southwest of about Keith to Whyalla. Less than 2 mm is expected in the far northeast.
Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers over southern agricultural area and the West Coast district, possibly extending into the northern agricultural area at times. Remaining fine over the Pastoral districts. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds becoming light to moderate southwest to southeasterly late next week.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
