MELBOURNE - May 22/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation The tail end of a weak cold front will linger across Victoria on Friday. A high pressure ridge will drift over the State on Saturday as a weakening trough approaches southwestern Victoria late in the day. The trough will move across the State on Sunday as a high pressure system develops over the Tasman Sea. The high in the Tasman will strengthen on Monday as a cold front moves into the Bight. Forecast for the rest of FridayShowers, tending to rain areas at times in the south and about the ranges, gradually contracting to eastern districts and the coast by the evening and becoming isolated. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms possible in the north. Cool to mild and mostly cloudy with winds tending moderate west to southwesterly.Saturday 24 MayIsolated showers, mainly in the south. A cool to mild and partly cloudy day with generally light winds.Sunday 25 MayIsolated showers, mainly in the south. Mild, partly cloudy day with light winds tending moderate northerly in the west.Monday 26 MayCloud increasing with rain developing in the west.
