MELBOURNE - May 22/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak high ridge of high pressure lies along Queensland's east coast, and is expected to weaken during the weekend. An upper level trough will move eastwards across the state on Friday and move off the east coast during Saturday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers about the east coast and about the eastern interior with more frequent showers about the North Tropical Coast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms about the Channel Country.Fine and clear cross the remainder of the state. Moderate to fresh southeast winds about the east coast. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds elsewhere.Friday 23 MayThe ridge along the east coast should continue to push moisture across the state, and some scattered showers across the eastern districts, extending inland into the northern interior. Meanwhile an upper level trough will move eastwards across the state, producing scattered showers and storms over the southern and central districts. Fine and mostly sunny in the northwest. Moderate to fresh southeast winds about the east coast.
