MELBOURNE - May 22/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over New South Wales will move slowly eastwards. A middle level trough and associated cloud band will move eastwards over central and southeastern parts of the State today. A weak front will move over the southeast of the State later tonight and early Friday. A stronger front will move over the South Australia on Monday and Tuesday next week. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine over the Flinders, Mid North and Riverland districts and also over southern parts of the North East Pastoral district. Otherwise, isolated showers and possible thunderstorms extending from the west during the day, increasing to scattered showers at times over the Lower Eyre Peninsula, southern coasts and the southeast. Mild to warm with moderate north to northwesterly winds, fresh at times in the east, easing to light and variable in the evening.Friday 23 MayMorning fog patches over the west. Isolated showers south and east of about Woomera, contracting further southeast during the day. Mild to warm with light to moderate north to northwest winds.Saturday 24 MayPossible isolated showers over Riverland, Mid North and Lower South East, clearing during the day. Fine elsewhere. Mild to warm in the south, hot in the north. Light to moderate northerly winds, shifting westerly in the far west during the day.Sunday 25 MayFine and warm to hot during the day with isolated showers extending from the west during the afternoon, to reach a line from Coober Pedy to Mount Gambier by evening. Moderate to northerly winds, shifting westerly in the far west during the afternoon. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday morning to midnight Sunday are expected to be negligible in the North East Pastoral district, up to 10 mm over the remainder with possible falls of 10 to 15 mm about southern coastal areas.Monday until WednesdayIsolated showers extending from the west during Monday, then contracting south and east during Tuesday. Possible isolated showers about western and southern coasts on Wednesday. Mild in the south, warm in the north, becoming cool to mild throughout on Tuesday and Wednesday.
