Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 21/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system crossing Victoria will join with a stronger high over the northern Tasman Sea tonight, resulting in a freshening mild northwesterly airstream over the State on Thursday. A cold front will cross southern Victoria late on Friday then a new high pressure system will drift over the State on Saturday. This high will move slowly into the Tasman Sea on Sunday night.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine apart from isolated evening showers over the eastern ranges. Light north to northwesterly winds.Thursday 22 MayMorning fog patches in the east then a mild day with cloud increasing and northwesterly winds strengthening over southern and elevated areas. Scattered showers developing over the southwest in the morning and extending to most districts by the evening. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms over the southwest.Friday 23 MayScattered showers mainly over southern and mountain districts contracting to the east during the day. Cool to mild and partly cloudy with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds easing in the west.Saturday 24 MayIsolated showers, contracting to the south during the afternoon. A cool and partly cloudy day with generally light winds.Sunday 25 MayIsolated showers in the south, clearing in the afternoon and evening.
