MELBOURNE - May 21/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system will cross Victoria today to join with a stronger high over the northern Tasman Sea, resulting in a freshening mild northwesterly airstream over the State on Thursday. A cold front will cross southern Victoria during Friday then a new high pressure system will drift over the State on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine apart from morning fog patches and isolated afternoon showers over the eastern ranges. Mild and partly cloudy with light winds tending moderate northerly from the west.Thursday 22 MayMorning fog patches in the east then a mild day with cloud increasing and northwesterly winds strengthening over southern and elevated areas. Scattered showers developing over the southwest in the afternoon and isolated showers developing over most other areas late in the day or at night.Friday 23 MayScattered showers mainly over southern and mountain districts contracting to the east during the day. Cool to mild and partly cloudy with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds easing in the west.Saturday 24 MayIsolated showers, mainly in the south, clearing during the afternoon.
