Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 19/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge across New South Wales. This high will remain semi-stationary over the next day or two. On Tuesday the high is expected to make way for a stronger cold front to affect the south of the state, before moving through the northeast on Wednesday. Another high centre is expected to develop over the Tasman Sea again in the wake of the front.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers on the far north coastal fringe. Early fog areas on the ranges and slopes. Fine elsewhere apart from the chance of a shower or two about the western slopes of the central ranges this afternoon and isolated showers along the Victorian border later this afternoon and evening. Northwest to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 20 MayIsolated showers in the south. Fine in the north. North to northwest winds turning southwest to southerly in the south later.Wednesday 21 MayIsolated showers along the coast and over the southeast. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds extending throughout.Thursday 22 MayIsolated showers along the northern half of the coast and about the southwest slopes of the ranges. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds in the far northeast and northwest to northeasterly winds over the remainder.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Monday.Product IDN10031
