Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 18/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A large high pressure system will remain almost stationary over the Tasman Sea until early in the week and will continue direct a mild north to northwesterly airstream over Victoria. A cold front is expected to cross southern Victoria on Tuesday, with the next high pressure system quickly crossing Victoria on Wednesday. Another cold front will move across Tasmania and Bass Strait on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayFine in the far east. Isolated light showers possible over remaining districts. Mostly cloudy with a moderate to locally fresh north to northwesterly wind.Monday 19 MayIsolated showers extending to most districts, apart from East Gippsland during the afternoon and evening. A mild and partly cloudy day with a light to moderate north to northwesterly wind.Tuesday 20 MayScattered showers, tending to rain over the northeast, becoming isolated and contracting eastwards later in the day. Mild to warm at first with light to moderate northwesterly winds winds, but cooler southerly winds extending throughout.Wednesday 21 MayIsolated showers clearing from the northeast during the early morning and local morning fog patches then a fine day throughout. Mild and partly cloudy with light winds tending northerly over western districts.Thursday 22 MayScattered showers developing over southern and mountain districts tending more isolated over the northern plains and East Gippsland and remaining dry over the far northwest. A mild and partly cloudy day with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Monday.Product IDV10310
