MELBOURNE - May 18/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A large high pressure system will remain almost stationary over the Tasman Sea until early next week and will continue direct a mild north to northwesterly airstream over Victoria. A cold front is expected to cross southern Victoria on Tuesday, with the next high pressure system quickly crossing Victoria on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayFine in the far east. Isolated light showers possible over remaining districts, mostly during the afternoon and evening. A mild and mostly cloudy day with a moderate to locally fresh north to northwesterly wind.Monday 19 MayIsolated showers extending to most districts, apart from East Gippsland. A mild and partly cloudy day with a light to moderate north to northwesterly wind.Tuesday 20 MayScattered showers, tending to rain over the northeast, becoming isolated and contracting eastwards later in the day. Mild at first with light to moderate northwesterly winds winds, but cooler southerly winds extending throughout.Wednesday 21 MayFine apart from isolated showers over the northeast.
