MELBOURNE - May 16/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over the Tasman Sea will remain near stationary for the remainder of the week. A weak front will move over southern coasts Monday evening and early Tuesday morning. Forecast for the rest of FridayPartly cloudy about the coastal areas with possible isolated showers and thunderstorms south of line about Fowlers Bay to Naracoorte. Mostly clear in the north. Mainly mild overnight with light to moderate northerly winds.Saturday 17 MayPartly cloudy about the coastal areas with possible isolated showers south of line about Nullarbor to Port Lincoln to Cape Jervis to Naracoorte. Fine and mostly sunny in the north. Generally warm with light to moderate northerly winds.Sunday 18 MayPartly cloudy about the coastal areas with possible isolated showers south of line about Elliston to Port Lincoln to Cape Jervis to Naracoorte. Possible afternoon showers about the Flinders Ranges. Mostly sunny across the north. Mild to warm with light to moderate northerly winds.Monday 19 MayPossible isolated showers, apart from in the northeast corner, increasing to isolated showers about southern coasts later in the day. Mild to warm with moderate northerly winds, ahead of a southerly wind change about coastal areas during the afternoon and evening.Tuesday 20 May Isolated showers about southern coastal districts until late evening. Possible isolated showers elsewhere, mostly during the afternoon. Mild to warm. Moderate south to southeasterly winds over agricultural areas turning northerly later in the day. Light winds in the north. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon to midnight Tuesday are expected to be mostly less than 2 mm, increasing to 2 to 5 mm over southern coastal districts with possible isolated falls reaching 5 to 10 about the coasts, mostly occurring overnight Monday and on Tuesday. Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers developing about the western border on Wednesday, then gradually extending eastwards across the State by the end of the week.
