Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 16/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A large high pressure system will remain almost stationary over the Tasman Sea until early next week, directing a mild north to northwesterly airstream over Victoria. A weakening cold front will slip southeastwards across Tasmania this morning with another weakening front expected to move across Tasmania on Saturday and a third front to cross Tasmania on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFine apart from isolated showers over northwestern and central areas this morning and in the southwest during the afternoon and evening. A mild to warm day with patchy morning cloud then a mostly sunny afternoon. Light to moderate north to northwesterly winds, fresh at times over southern and elevated areas.Saturday 17 MayIsolated showers in the southwest, otherwise fine. Mild and partly cloudy with light to moderate north to northwesterly winds.Sunday 18 MayFine apart from isolated showers over the southwest. A mild and partly cloudy day with a light to moderate north to northwesterly wind.Monday 19 MayFine over the far north and east. Isolated showers elsewhere, mainly over the ranges.
