Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 15/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A large high pressure system will remain almost stationary over the Tasman Sea until early next week, directing a mild north to northwesterly airstream over Victoria. A weakening cold front will slip southeastwards across Tasmania tonight with another weakening front expected to move across Tasmania on Saturday. A cold front is expected to move through Bass Strait on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine. Moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds.Friday 16 MayFine apart from isolated showers developing over the southwest during the afternoon. A mild and mainly sunny day with light to moderate north to northwesterly winds, fresher over elevated areas and over the southwest.Saturday 17 MayIsolated showers in the southwest, otherwise fine. Mild and partly cloudy with light to moderate north to northwesterly winds.Sunday 18 MayFine apart from isolated showers over the southwest. A mild and partly cloudy day with a light to moderate north to northwesterly wind.Monday 19 MayFine over the far north and east. Isolated showers elsewhere, mainly over the ranges.
