MELBOURNE - May 13/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A slow-moving high over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge across southern New South Wales. This high is expected to remain very slow moving until at least early next week. Cold fronts crossing the Southern Ocean over the coming days will have little or no effect on New South Wales as they slip away to the southeast past Tasmania. As the ridge moves slowly north into central parts of the state the southeasterly airstream should contract to the far north coast later in the week, with milder northeast to northwest winds across much of the remainder. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers on the central and northern coasts and adjacent ranges, tending scattered along the coastal fringe. Morning fog patches in the east. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Northeast to southeasterly winds, fresh along the northern coast.Wednesday 14 MayIsolated showers on the northern coast, possibly extending to central parts of the coast during the morning. Areas of morning fog, otherwise mostly sunny elsewhere. Frosts on the ranges. Cool nights and mild to warm days. East to southeasterly winds in the northeast of the state, north to northwest winds in the west and southeast.Thursday 15 MayIsolated showers on the far north coast, becoming scattered along the coastal fringe during the afternoon. Some morning fog and frosts on the ranges and west slopes. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Cool nights and mild to warm days. East to southeasterly winds in the northeast of the state, north to northwest winds in the west and southeast.Friday 16 MayIsolated showers on the north coast and adjacent slopes.
