Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 11/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough lies over northeast New South Wales today, while a high centred near Adelaide extends a ridge into the state's west. This high will shift to the southern Tasman Sea early Monday, maintaining a ridge across most of New South Wales as the trough moves off the northern coast. The synoptic pattern is forecast to evolve very slowly through the week, with the ridge strengthening and remaining the dominant feature in the region.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers in the northeast, and about central parts of the coast, with the chance of thunderstorms. Fine elsewhere. North to northwesterly winds in the northeast, with southeast to southwesterly winds extending through the remainder.Monday 12 MayShowers on the coast and adjacent ranges, except for the far south. Showers becoming more frequent along the coastal fringe during the morning, with the chance of local thunder about central parts of the coast. Morning fog patches in the south and east, and local early frosts on the southern ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds along the coast, fresh at times, and east to southeasterly winds inland.Tuesday 13 MayIsolated showers on the central and northern coasts and adjacent ranges, tending scattered along the coastal fringe. Morning fog patches in the east. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Northeast to southeasterly winds, fresh along the northern coast.Wednesday 14 MayIsolated showers on the northern coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of morning showers about central parts of the coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Northeast to southeasterly winds near the coast, fresh in the north, with light and variable winds inland.Thursday 15 MayIsolated showers on the northern coast, becoming scattered along the coastal fringe during the afternoon.
