MELBOURNE - May 10/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough over central parts of New South Wales will shift towards the northeast tonight and Sunday while a high strengthens to the west. This high is expected to move to the southern Tasman Sea early Monday, maintaining a ridge across most of New South Wales while the trough moves off the northern coast. The pattern is forecast to evolve very slowly through the week, with the ridge strengthening and remaining the dominant feature in the region. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayAreas of rain in central and southeastern districts, mainly on the western slopes of the tablelands. Fine in the west and the northeast. North to northwesterly winds turning southwesterly in the west.Sunday 11 MayAreas of rain and showers in the east, mostly clearing from the southeast during the morning. The chance of afternoon thunderstorms in the northeast. Fine and mostly sunny in the west. North to northwesterly winds in the northeast, with southeast to southwesterly winds extending through the remainder.Monday 12 MayShowers along the coast and adjacent ranges, except for the far south, more frequent along the coastal fringe. Fine and mostly sunny in the west. South to southeasterly winds along the coast, fresh at times, and east to southeasterly winds inland.Tuesday 13 MayIsolated showers on the central and northern coasts and adjacent ranges, tending scattered along the coastal fringe. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Northeast to southeasterly winds, fresh along the northern coast.Wednesday 14 MayIsolated showers on the northern coast and adjacent ranges, scattered at first along the coastal fringe. The chance of morning showers about central parts of the coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere.
