MELBOURNE - May 9/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high centred to the east of Bass Strait extends a ridge through eastern New South Wales and Queensland, while a strong cold front is is approaching New South Wales from the west. As the high drifts across the Tasman Sea during the weekend, the frontal system will move into New South Wales although it expected to weaken considerably on approach. Another high is forecast to develop over much of southeast Australia during Sunday in the wake of the cold front, and trough appears likely to develop near the northern New South Wales coast early in the new week. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers about the northern coast and adjacent ranges. Cloud increasing in the west, with patchy rain developing near the South Australia border, extending towards central districts overnight. East to northeasterly winds, tending fresh northerly over the western inland.Saturday 10 MayAreas of rain through most central districts, chiefly about the southern and central west slopes and plains. The chance of early showers or patchy rain in the far west. Isolated showers developing in the southeast. Morning fog patches in the northeast, but a fine day with cloud increasing later. North to northwesterly winds turning southwesterly in the far southwest.Sunday 11 MayShowers across most eastern districts, becoming more frequent about central parts of the coast. Morning fog possible in the south and far northeast. Mostly sunny in the west. West to northwesterly winds over the northeast, with southerly winds extending through the remainder.Monday 12 MayShowers along most of the coast and adjacent ranges, except for the far south. Mostly sunny in the west. South to southeasterly winds along the coast, and east to southeasterly winds inland.Tuesday 13 MayShowers along the coast and adjacent ranges. Mostly sunny inland.
