Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 9/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high is centred over the Tasman Sea. A weakening trough near Ceduna will extend over central parts during Friday evening, reaching the southeast early on Saturday. A ridge of high pressure will extend across South Australia on Saturday, and persist into next week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayAreas of rain over eastern districts, with patchy rain over the pastoral districts, contracting to the North East Pastoral district and eastern border area this evening. Showers will persist over the West Coast district and agricultural areas following the band of rain. Possible late evening thunderstorms over Lower Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island. Cool with Moderate northerly winds, becoming light to moderate northwesterly this evening.Saturday 10 MayPatchy morning rain over the North East Pastoral and eastern border districts north of about Lameroo. Scattered showers and possible isolated thunderstorms about southern coastal areas easing to isolated showers in the afternoon. Isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area clearing during the afternoon. Morning fog patches over the agricultural areas and south of the pastorals. Generally mild. Light to moderate westerly winds over agricultural areas, tending southwest to southeasterly in the north.Sunday 11 MayFine apart from possible isolated showers over southern agricultural areas until late afternoon or evening. Morning fog patches over the agricultural areas and south of the pastorals. Generally mild to warm with mainly light winds.Monday 12 MayMorning fog patches over the agricultural areas, then fine. Generally mild with light winds, becoming moderate northeasterly during the day.Tuesday 13 MayFine and mostly sunny. Mild to warm with mostly light winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon to midnight Tuesday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area. Isolated falls of 5 to 10 mm are possible about southern coasts and ranges. Less than 2 mm is expected further north and west.Wednesday until FridayFine conditions apart from possible isolated showers about the Lower South East on Thursday. Mild to warm with light to moderate northerly winds becoming moderate west to northwesterly in the south later in the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
