Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 7/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high to the west of Tasmania will move slowly eastwards reaching the Tasman Sea by Friday. A front will move over western parts of the State on Thursday then extend over central parts during Friday, reaching the southeast early on Saturday. A new high will develop over the State during Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine. Partly cloudy in the southeast otherwise mostly clear. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 8 MayPatchy rain developing form the west to reach about Coober Pedy to Woomera to Kingscote late evening. Areas of rain developing west of about Ceduna during the morning and afternoon and reaching about Tarcoola to Port Lincoln late evening. Cool to mild, tending to warm in the far northwest. Moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, fresh to strong at times in the west.Friday 9 MayAreas of rain extending to west of about Renmark to Coober Pedy during the morning with Patchy rain extending over the Northeast Pastoral district west of about Moomba. Rain then contracting to the far north of the State and the agricultural areas but also clearing from the west. Isolated showers following the rain about western coasts and the agricultural area. Possible late evening thunderstorms over the Lower Eyre and Yorke Peninsulas, and Kangaroo Island. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change extending over western districts during the day. Winds fresh to strong at times in the south during the morning and early afternoon.Saturday 10 MayPatchy morning rain in the northeast. Isolated showers over the agricultural areas, the West Coast district and the south of the North East Pastoral district, contracting to coasts in the evening. Showers tending to scattered about the southern coasts, and possibly the ranges, during the morning and early afternoon. Possible morning thunderstorms over Lower Eyre and Yorke Peninsulas, Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East district. Mild with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds extending throughout.Sunday 11 MayPossible isolated showers over the agricultural area on Sunday, more likely in the far south. Cool to mild with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon to midnight Sunday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm southwest of about Woomera to Renmark with possible falls up to 20 mm in the west. Less than 2 mm is expected in the far northeast with 2 to 5 mm elsewhere.Monday until WednesdayFine apart from possible isolated showers south of about Port Lincoln to Mt Gambier during Tuesday afternoon and evening, then developing south of about Keith to Cummins during Wednesday. Generally mild to warm with moderate northeast to northwesterly winds ahead of a southwesterly change in the west during Tuesday, extending throughout during Wednesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
