Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 6/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high to the south extends a ridge of high pressure over the State. The high will move slowly eastwards reaching the Tasman Sea by Friday. A front will move over western parts of the State on Thursday then extend over central parts during Friday, reaching the southeast on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayMorning fog patches about the southeast. Isolated light showers over the south of the Lower South East district until mid afternoon. The chance of isolated light showers over Eyre Peninsula, the Flinders district and the south of the Northeast Pastoral district. Generally cool. Mild in the far north and west. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Thursday 8 MayPatchy rain developing west of about Tarcoola, increasing to areas of rain west of about Fowlers Bay. Cool to mild, tending to warm in the far northwest. Moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, fresh at times in the west.Friday 9 MayAreas of rain extending to west of about Keith to Oodnadatta early morning then contracting to the far north of the State and the agricultural areas but also clearing from the west. Possible patchy rain extending to the eastern border. Isolated showers following the rain about western coasts and the agricultural area. Cool to mild with moderate northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change extending over western districts during the day.Saturday 10 MayPatchy morning rain in the far northeast. Isolated showers over the agricultural areas, the West Coast district and the south of the North East Pastoral district, contracting to coasts in the evening. Showers tending to scattered about the southern coasts and ranges during the morning. Possible morning thunderstorms over Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East district. Mild with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds extending throughout. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday to midnight Saturday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm west of about Broken Hill to Oodnadatta increasing to 10 to 15 mm west of about Adelaide to Tarcoola, with possible falls up to 20 mm. Less than 2 mm is expected in the northeast.Sunday until TuesdayPossible isolated showers over the agricultural area on Sunday, more likely in the far south. Fine on Monday and Tuesday apart from isolated showers developing west of about Mt Gambier to Port Lincoln late Tuesday evening. Cool to mild, becoming mild to warm on Tuesday. Generally light winds becoming moderate northeast to northwesterly on Monday, fresh at times in the west ahead of a cooler southwesterly change in the west on Tuesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033
