Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 6/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A deep low pressure complex over the southern Tasman Sea will move eastwards during Wednesday allowing a high pressure system in the Bight to move slowly towards Tasmania. The high will cross Tasmania on Thursday and extend a ridge over eastern Victoria. During Friday the high will move into the Tasman Sea and a weakening cold front will approach from the west, crossing Victoria during Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers in the south. Light to moderate south to southwesterly winds, fresh about the east Gippsland coast.Wednesday 7 MayIsolated showers in the south, contracting to the coast then clearing by early afternoon. Dry and partly cloudy north of the Divide. Isolated morning frost patches inland, then a cool day with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Thursday 8 MayFine apart from isolated morning showers and drizzle near the Gippsland coast and west coast. Morning frost and fog inland then a cool to mild, mainly sunny day. Light winds tending northerly over western districts.Friday 9 MayA generally mild day with increasing high cloud and moderate to fresh northerly winds. Isolated showers developing in the west later.Saturday 10 MayIsolated showers in the western half of the State at first, extending throughout during the morning, tending scattered over the southwest. Showers in the west contracting to the coast by evening. North to northwesterly winds shifting west to southwesterly during the day.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Wednesday.Product IDV10310
