Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 5/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A deep low pressure complex over the southern Tasman Sea will move steadily eastwards on Tuesday and Wednesday allowing a high pressure system south of the Bight to strengthen and drift towards Tasmania. The high will slowly cross Tasmania on Thursday and extend a strong ridge northwards across eastern Victoria then on Friday the high will move away to the east of Bass Strait and a weakening cold front will approach western Victoria.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayMorning fog patches, mainly in the north. Isolated showers in the south falling as snow above 1500 metres. A generally cool and partly cloudy with moderate south to southwesterly winds, fresh about the Gippsland coast.Wednesday 7 MayIsolated showers, mainly coastal and on adjacent ranges. Dry and partly cloudy north of the divide. Early frosts inland, then a cool day with light to moderate southerly winds.Thursday 8 MayFine apart from isolated showers near the west coast and in the far east, clearing during the morning. Local early frost and fog inland then a cool to mild mainly sunny day. Light winds tending northerly over western districts.Friday 9 MayEarly fog and frost in the east then a cool to mild day with increasing high cloud and moderate to fresh northerly winds.
