MELBOURNE - May 4/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high south of Western Australia extends a ridge of high pressure over the north of South Australia. A weak front will move over the south of South Australia today, followed by the high which will strengthen and be centred south of the State on Tuesday and Wednesday before moving slowly eastwards to reach the Tasman Sea by Friday. Another front will move over western parts of the State on Friday then extend over central and eastern parts on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of MondayPossible morning fog patches in the west. Isolated showers extending over the agricultural area, increasing to scattered about the southern coasts and ranges for a period during the morning and early afternoon. Cool to mild with chiefly light winds, tending light to moderate northwest to southwesterly about southern coastal districts.Tuesday 6 MayPossible morning fog patches over the northern agricultural and southern pastoral districts. Morning frost patches in the southeast. The chance of isolated showers south of about Tarcoola to Yunta, but dry over the southern agricultural area east of Yorke Peninsula. Showers more likely about western and Eyre Peninsula coasts. Cool to mild with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, turning northeasterly in the west.Wednesday 7 MayMorning frost patches in the southeast. The chance of isolated showers about the West Coast and North West Pastoral districts south of about Woomera. The chance of isolated early morning showers over the south of the Lower South East district. Generally cool. Mild in the far north. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Thursday 8 MayIsolated showers developing west of about Ceduna, increasing to scattered showers west of about Nullarbor. Cool to mild with mainly light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday to midnight Thursday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the northern agricultural area and western parts of the Northwest Pastoral, and 5 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area and West Coast. Falls of 10 to 20 mm are possible about southern coasts and ranges and also over parts of the West Coast. Less than 2 mm is expected elsewhere.Friday until SundayIsolated showers extending over most parts of the State, increasing to scattered with the passage of a cold front on Friday and Saturday. Isolated showers about the agricultural areas and southern pastoral districts on Sunday.
